New plasma welding installation for Gpi Tanks Poland
Earlier this year, Gpi Group invested in a new plasma welding installation for our factory in Poland, equipped with a clamping bench, rotary table and wheel racks. This installation is basically similar to those we have in our other plants, making it a tried and tested method. With this, we are taking the Gpi Group’s capacity in this segment to the next level.
With this installation, we automate a large part of our welding process.
– Welding plates together, such as lids or the vertical welds on a hull, using the clamping bench.
– Welding round seams on the rotary table.
– Welding small-diameter round seams underhand using the wheel racks.
This investment allows us to both improve the quality of our tanks and work more efficiently. The system is equipped with a camera system and directly equipped with welding fume extraction, allowing us to work not only more productively, but also more safely.
We can start using the machines immediately for the full workload in Brzeg and expect to enjoy this immediately in quality and efficiency.
In the coming months, the production manager, foremen, HSE and other technical experts in the organisation will work on setting up the installation optimally and adjusting the layout in the factory accordingly.
Naturally, we are pleased to continue investing in our core processes, enhancing both efficiency and quality across our production facilities.
