Vanuit haar maatschappelijke betrokkenheid heeft Gpi zich al geruime tijd verbonden aan KidsCare Kenia. KidsCare Kenia is een ideële stichting die werd opgericht in 2010. KidsCare heeft tot doel de thuiszorg van wees- en hulpbehoevende kinderen in Kenia te bevorderen. KidsCare werkt praktisch, is enthousiast, betrokken en daadkrachtig. Elke ontvangen euro wordt in Kenia besteed. De resultaten mogen er zijn. Een aanpak die Gpi en haar medewerkers bijzonder aanspreekt.

Regiocentrum KidsCare Kenia
Gpi heeft onder meer een bijdrage kunnen leveren aan de bouw van het Regiocentrum dat KidsCare onlangs in gebruik heeft genomen.
Begin 2013 is men begonnen met de bouw van dit centrum en oktober 2013 is het officieel geopend. Fons Geurts, oprichter van Gpi en zijn echtgenote waren daar persoonlijk getuige van. Fons en zijn echtgenote hebben twee weken opgetrokken met de sociale werkers van KidsCare en zelf ook actief meegewerkt aan de hulpverlening voor de KidsCare kinderen.

Program KidsCare Kenya
KidsCare Kenya has two different programs.
The first homecare program is focused on social and economical support of poor families where orphans are housed. In total, this program involves around 240 families in 24 rural villages in the region. These households are assisted by a social worker and village volunteers. In addition, they receive financial support so that around 1800 children can attend school, receive medical care and have adequate food and clothing.
The other homecare program guides about 125 children whith mental and/or physical constraints. Each of these children have their own care plan. These kids and their families receive, in addition to social and economic guidance, often therapy, a wheelchair or other tools from KidsCare.
