Pressure vessels for NMP solvent on their way to the USA.
Another order for the Japanese concern has set sail from the port in Gdansk (Poland) to make its way across the ocean to a new investment in the USA.
Working on the basis of a previous project, Gpi produced two pressure vessels with an agitator for NMP solvent.
The calculations and design were made in accordance with the American ASME BPVC VIII-I standard, considering the location of the tanks and the stringent requirements for their construction.
Tank specification
Two vertical process tanks, 3 m high, 3.1 m wide with a conical base, were secured in special crates for transport by ship. The weight of the tank is 4,200 kg. The design temperature is -29/60 Celsius degrees.
The material used to contact the product is 304 and 304L stainless steel. The capacity of the tank is approximately 33m3.
Long-term cooperation and new investments
An Asia-based holding company is embarking on another business investment, with a specialization in batteries. It is using NMP, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone), which is an organic chemical compound often used as a solvent due to its unique properties.
In the electronics industry, NMP is used for cleaning and surface preparation of semi-conductors and as a solvent for the manufacture and processing of materials used in electronics.
The project is one of three we have completed for the Japanese company.
