3 process tanks delivery for Hempel Paints
Hempel Paints Poland, a global leader in paint and coating production, decided to purchase three specialized process tanks for its factory in Poland. This project aims to efficiently support the production of solvent-based paints, for which Hempel is renowned.
Paint process tanks
The client requested Gpi Poland with a need to design and supply three stainless steel process tanks. Due to the characteristics of the paint, Gpi included an appropriate agitator and a pillow-plate heating jacket.
The internal surface of each tank was polished to a roughness of Ra ≤ 0,4 µm, which facilitates cleaning and prevents paint residue buildup. Each tank, standing 4 meters high and 2.5 meters in diameter, includes 50 mm of mineral wool insulation to maintain stable product temperatures. Gpi Poland have installed the tanks on three stable legs, providing a safe and durable setup for Hempel Paints’ factory.
Technical specifications of the supplied proces tanks
- Capacity: 12 m³
- Tank weight: 2400 kg
- Design pressure: -0,1/0,1 bar (in compliance with the PED directive)
- Operating temperature range: od 0 do 85°C
- Design standard: EN 13445
Benefits of tank installation
The new process tanks meet the highest standards of quality and safety, significantly improving production processes at the Hempel factory. Their stainless steel construction and precise surface finishing ensure long-term durability.
Sebastian Cieslak, Maintenance and Engineering Manager at Hempel Paints, about Gpi – “In the future, I will definitely recommend tanks manufactured by GPI. Throughout the project, Mr. Tomasz Seroka and the rest of the team demonstrated a professional approach; all our comments and suggestions were discussed and implemented as the project progressed — many thanks to the team that handled the tank installation.”
