Steven Sijperda Appointed CEO of Gpi Group

As of January 1, 2025, Steven Sijperda has been appointed as the new CEO of Gpi Group B.V. With his experience within Gpi and proven leadership within the organization, he succeeds Fred Boere and Arno Rodenburg, who are stepping down from their operational responsibilities and will continue as non-executive board members. This appointment marks the beginning of a new phase for Gpi Group, with further growth and innovation at its core.

Steven Sijperda is no stranger to Gpi. In 2021, he started as Manager of Operations at Gpi Tanks, and in 2022, he was appointed Managing Director of the same division. Under his leadership, Gpi Tanks has successfully consolidated a period of strong growth while significantly improving profitability. As of November 5, 2024, Arwin Roos has been appointed Managing Director of Gpi Tanks, the position previously held by Steven.

Steven reflects on the past years at Gpi Tanks: ‘At Gpi Tanks, the focus in recent years has been on stabilizing the organization after a period of rapid growth. This has been successful: we have developed into a stable project organization that delivers impressive projects for leading clients in various industries. At the same time, we have achieved a significant improvement in our profitability. From this solid foundation and the opportunities the market offers, we can now strategically invest in our core processes and achieve further growth.’

Transfer of leadership

Fred Boere and Arno Rodenburg, who have jointly led the organization as co-CEOs in recent years, are handing over their operational responsibilities. Both will remain involved with the organization as non-executive board members.

Fred comments: ‘Over the past 25 years, we have built the organization with great pleasure and dedication, as it stands today. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together. By passing the baton to a new generation of leaders, we can take the next step and continue to contribute to the organization’s further development in a different role.’

Arno adds: ‘With Steven’s appointment as CEO of Gpi Group, our new leadership team is complete. Steven has achieved impressive results with Gpi Tanks and has proven that he is ready to lead the entire organization, together with CFO Tjibbe Steenstra, COO Gerard Blok, and CCO Alexander Kraaijkamp. We are fully confident that the organization is in good hands.’

Strategy

Over the past year, the management has been working on a new strategic long-term plan for the period 2025-2029. Steven emphasizes the mission of Gpi Group: ‘Our ambition is to become a world-class player for world-class players. This primarily relates to the quality we want to deliver in everything we do. Whether it is managing a project or installing a tank, striving for world-class standards is central. We have a very complete product portfolio and guide our customers through every step of the process, from sales to installation. This is a strong proposition that we will continue to strengthen and expand in the coming years.’

Steven continues: ‘As part of our strategy, we will systematically invest in our core processes in the coming years. Although we are a project organization, our core is in production. To strengthen our long-term position, we will begin expanding our production capacity in 2025 and invest in innovative technologies, such as robotics and further automation.’

New office location in Woerden

Another milestone is the relocation of all supporting services and management of Gpi Group to a new office location in Woerden, effective January 6, 2025. Steven explains: ‘From this new location, centrally located between our factories, we will coordinate the activities of our six subsidiaries and create a strong foundation for future growth. Additionally, this move provides the subsidiaries with the space to expand further.’
