18 cocoa butter tanks now operating in Germany
Gpi delivered 18 stainless steel tanks, with a capacity of 60 m³ each. The tanks were designed and constructed by Gpi Poland to satisfy the storage requirements of raw materials in the food industry, and especially cocoa butter oil.
Specification of cocoa butter oil tanks
The tanks with agitators were provided with a water heating function using a dimple jacket at the bottom. The design temperature is 10 / 90 °C. Gpi insulation team used 80 mm thick mineral wool for energy-efficiency and thermal stability.
304 L type stainless steel were used for product contact. Each tank weighs between 5 and 5.3 tons, with a diameter of 3.5 metres and a height of 7.7 metres. Such parameters ensure optimal storage and mixing conditions for the cocoa product, while allowing easy integration into the customer’s already in place infrastructure.
Delivery in 2 sites
Delivering such a large number of tanks to 2 locations required pinpoint organisation and coordination between the Gpi and client’s teams. Each of the customer’s factories had its own specific set of demands, so a flexible approach was a key priority. The transport took place in several batches, allowing simultaneous preparation of the installation.
Products worldwide
The delivery of 18 stainless steel tanks with a capacity of 60 m³ was one example of a successful collaboration. With this project, the client can continue its mission to supply cocoa products to the global market.
