Tex Year: “With full confidence, I recommend cooperation with Gpi Tanks Poland”

Gpi delivers 4 x 3m³ pressure mixing tanks to improve existing process

Tex Year is a Taiwanese company with over 45 years of experience in the production of hot-melt adhesives, super glue, specialty chemicals, and environmentally friendly solutions for the packaging, medical, and electronics industries. Present in more than 90 countries, the company operates production facilities and R&D centers in Asia, Europe, India, and North America. One of the key locations on the company’s operational map is its factory in Gniezno, which serves as a European production and distribution hub.

As part of the development of its local infrastructure, Tex Year decided to modernize its technological line by replacing existing process tanks. The project included the delivery of four modern pressure vessels with agitators, fully tailored to the production parameters of hot-melt adhesives.

Technical specification tailored to the process

The company identified precise alignment of the tank design with the technological process as a priority. Key parameters included temperature, operating pressure, medium density, and the requirement for efficient product heating. As a result, four stainless steel tanks were manufactured, each with a capacity of 3 m³, equipped with oil jackets, Klopper heads (top head according to DIN 28011), agitators, and heating systems designed to operate within a temperature range of 0–230°C. The constructions comply with EN 13445, and the permissible medium density is up to 1500 kg/m³. What distinguishes this project is that the internal surfaces in contact with the product are finished to Ra < 0.2 µm.

The tanks are used for mixing raw materials which, at elevated temperatures, form a semi-finished product in the form of liquid adhesive. Waldemar Skory, Production Manager at Tex Year, emphasizes: “The objective of the project was to ensure continuity and safety of the production process. The new tanks were not only intended to replace the existing ones, but above all to increase efficiency and stability of parameters at the subsequent stages of the process.”

Engineering cooperation and agitator selection

The selection of agitators was subject to detailed discussions and analyses. Production Manager at Tex Year points out the quality of cooperation during the engineering phase: “The cooperation at the design stage was based on open communication and strong commitment. The people we worked with demonstrated very high technical competence and a solid understanding of industrial processes. They shared their experience and proposed solutions tailored to our needs.”

Production and technical acceptance

The tanks were manufactured at the Gpi Tanks Poland production facility. During the technical acceptance, the Tex Year team had the opportunity to review the quality of workmanship and production organization.

“What we saw on site confirmed the company’s reputation as an experienced and reliable tank manufacturer. A professional approach, transparency, and high quality were visible at every stage,” says Waldemar.

Transport, installation and commissioning

The transport of the tanks to the Tex Year facility in Gniezno was organized by the supplier and proceeded without disruption. The equipment was properly secured, and unloading and positioning were carried out in cooperation with an external installation company.

“The installation went smoothly, and at every stage we could rely on support. Whenever questions arose, the responses were quick and precise. The project was well managed – every participant knew the current stage and the next steps. Communication was exemplary.”

Implementation results and further cooperation

From Tex Year’s perspective, the project had a positive impact on the efficiency and safety of the entire installation: “With full confidence, I recommend cooperation with Gpi Tanks Poland. The project implementation was based on a shared commitment to a clearly defined goal – delivering tanks that meet all our technological requirements. Technical advisory services, consultations, online meetings, and phone calls were conducted at a high substantive level. At every stage of the project, all involved partners had full awareness of the schedule and upcoming activities. The timeline was regularly updated, ensuring transparency and efficient coordination. After several months of cooperation, we can confidently say that we understood each other very well – and strong relationships were established between the teams on both sides,” clearly states Waldemar.

Special recognition was given to the person responsible for project coordination: “Special thanks go to Mr. Szymon Bednarz, the project leader, who coordinated the entire process with great commitment. All comments we raised were addressed in a timely manner, and communication was smooth and factual. Even after completion of the installation, we remain in contact, which demonstrates a high level of responsibility and a partnership-based approach. Mr. Szymon’s professionalism had a significant impact on the successful completion of the project.”
