Frost: “The new tank met our expectations in terms of size and workmanship”
Gpi supplies a 16 m³ hot utility water storage tank
Frost Second B. Wegenke specializes in the production of frozen vegetables. As part of the modernization of the plant infrastructure, the company was looking for a new hot utility water tank used during the cleaning of technological lines. The key challenge was to deliver a solution that would fit in the location of the existing tank, be compatible with the current installation and provide a sufficient amount of water for the daily operation of the plant.
The project was preceded by a site visit conducted by representatives of Gpi Tanks Poland. This allowed them to precisely determine the customer’s requirements and verify the installation possibilities.
“After the site visit carried out at our plant and discussions with the Gpi representative, we decided to place an order. It was crucial for us to confirm that the new tank would fit in the place of the existing tank and meet our expectations in terms of size and workmanship” says Adam Kasperski from Frost Second.
Tank tailored to the plant’s needs
For the purposes of the project, a hot utility water storage tank with a working capacity of 16 m³ was supplied. The tank was designed in accordance with the SEP standard and adapted to operate at temperatures from 20 to 70°C with a design pressure of -5 to +5 mbarg.
An important requirement was not only to ensure adequate capacity, but also to fully adapt the design to the existing infrastructure and operating conditions of the installation.
“The requirements for the tank were that it had to fit in the place of the tank we already had, match our installation and be made of the appropriate material” he explains.
Cooperation based on communication
The scope of the project included the production of the tank at the Gpi Tanks Poland facility and its transport to the customer’s site. The installation was carried out by Remigiusz Burliga from Gpi Tanks Poland, while the connection to the installation was completed by an external company.
“The cooperation went very well. We were informed about every stage of production” Adam emphasizes.
Regular contact between the customer and the project team allowed the project to be carried out efficiently and ensured full transparency of the process from the moment the order was placed until the tank was commissioned.

Ensuring process continuity
Today, the tank is an important part of the plant infrastructure, responsible for storing hot utility water used during the cleaning of technological lines. Adequate water availability is essential for the efficient execution of processes related to maintaining production hygiene and ensuring continuity of plant operations. Thanks to a capacity tailored to the company’s needs, the tank supports the daily operation of the installation and ensures the availability of the medium used in cleaning processes.
“The tank is able to provide us with a sufficient amount of water” concludes the company representative.
