Three 100 m³ stainless steel tanks for Mavitec

Mavitec B.V. is a Dutch technology company specializing in advanced processing solutions for the rendering industry, organic waste recycling and renewable energy production. The company supplies both batch and continuous systems that enable the processing of animal by-products into high-quality proteins, oils and fats used in the pet food industry, oleochemical sector and renewable fuels industry.

As part of the collaboration with Gpi Tanks Poland, Mavitec was responsible for the technological side of the project carried out for an end client operating in the animal by-products processing industry. The scope of the project included the design, production and delivery of three 100 m³ stainless steel tanks intended for the storage of poultry fat.

Collaboration with Mavitec

The project was based on close cooperation with the client. From the earliest design stages, numerous details were carefully discussed and adjusted to ensure that the final product would fully meet Mavitec’s requirements. This resulted in a highly customized solution that not only fit the technical criteria but also supported the operational goals of the company.

Technical specifications

Each of the three tanks was built with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every technical aspect matched the expectations of the client. The tanks have a total capacity of 100 m³ and stand 14 meters high. Despite their size, each unit weighs just 6,360 kilograms, making them both robust and efficient in handling.

The design pressure was set at -5.0 to +5.0 mbar for the tank body and -0.0 to +6.0 bar for internal safety, with all elements manufactured in accordance with EN 1090 standards. Thanks to their engineering, the tanks can operate reliably in a broad temperature range from -20°C to +145°C. They were also designed to handle a medium density of up to 900 kg/m³ in the upper head and 1000 kg/m³ in the lower head. To ensure optimal energy efficiency and product safety, the tanks were insulated with high-quality mineral wool.

Features and logistics

Beyond the technical parameters, each tank was equipped with additional features that enhance usability and safety. A conical top head ensures structural strength, while a conical bottom head supports efficient drainage of the medium. Platforms and ladders were installed to allow safe access for inspection and maintenance, and the tanks were mounted on four stable legs to guarantee durability and stability.

The scope of Gpi’s work did not end with production. The company also took full responsibility for logistics and installation. Once manufacturing was complete, the tanks were carefully transported to the project site, where Gpi Tanks Poland coordinated their professional on-site assembly.
