API 650 Tanks
High-quality API 650 vertical flat-bottomed tanks
At Gpi Tanks, we specialize in designing, manufacturing, and installing API 650 storage tanks that meet the rigorous standards of the American Petroleum Institute (API). Our tanks are engineered for durability, safety, and compliance, serving industries such as oil and gas, water treatment, chemical storage, and more. Whether you need a sludge holding tank, bunker fuel storage tank, crude oil tank, or demineralized water tank, we deliver customized solutions tailored to your project requirements.
Do you have any questions about API 650 tanks?
What are API 650 tanks?
The API 650 standard governs the design, fabrication, welding, inspection, and erection of welded, flat-bottomed, vertical storage tanks for low-pressure applications (up to 2.5 psig). These tanks are ideal for storing liquids such as:
Crude oil
Gasoline
Bunker fuel (e.g., IFO 380)
Sludge and wastewater
Demineralized or treated water
Chemicals
Our API 650 tanks are stainless steel (e.g., AISI 304L, AISI 316L, duplex), offering corrosion resistance and structural integrity. With capacities ranging from 100 m³ to 10,000 m³, we build tanks both in our factories and on-site using our innovative Coil Building system. You can read more about this system here, or watch our Coil Building film.
We also produce tanks according to EN 14015, the European equivalent of API 650. You can read more about this subject here.
Why choose Gpi’s API 650 standard storage tanks?
Gpi Tanks combines advanced manufacturing technology with decades of expertise to deliver API 650-compliant tanks that exceed industry standards. Here’s why clients worldwide trust us:
Versatile applications: Perfect for oil refineries, pipelines, terminals, sewage treatment plants, and chemical storage facilities.
Customizable designs: Options for conical, domed, or floating roofs, double-walled configurations, and heating coils.
High-quality materials: Use of robust materials like duplex stainless steel for thinner, cost-effective walls without compromising strength.
Global Compliance: Adherence to API 650, with options for EN 14015 (European equivalent) and compatibility with ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and CSA B51 for specific components.
Advanced Manufacturing: Factory-built tanks up to 500 m³ and on-site construction up to 15,000 m³ using our Coil Building system for efficiency and precision.
Comprehensive Accessories: Includes valves, level indicators, heating systems, ladders, platforms, and corrosion-resistant coatings.
Customer case
We recently delivered a 7,300 m³ demineralized water tank built to API 650 standards, showcasing our capability to handle large-scale projects with precision
