4 pressure tanks for cosmetics
Gpi produced four mobile pressure tanks for a cosmetics company which operates on a global basis. The tanks are to be used in order to transport make-up from the production kettle to the filling machine in bulk, in order to carry out the filling process there.
We have prepared a comprehensive guide about Pressure Vessels
The client’s request comprised four insulated, mobile pressure tanks that had to be somewhat similar to tanks delivered by Gpi in the past. The tanks are to be used in order to bring make-up from the product kettle to the filling machine in bulk, in order to carry out the filling process there. Because it involved a new process, it was not entirely clear how the tanks should be realised, and with what kind of agitators these had to be fitted for the desired result.
Gpi produced four tanks with a diameter of 70 centimetres, a height of over 90 centimetres and a capacity of 350 litres. In consultation with the agitator supplier, the mixing configuration and the tank design were selected and executed. Strikingly, a full bottom was chosen instead of the steep-conical bottom, as was used in the previously delivered (unstirred) tanks. This is because this shape ensures a better mixing effect for specific product ingredients. The (anchor) agitators have a shape that is such that they push the product in the direction of the tank outlet. By applying overpressure on the tank, the product comes out well. The tanks are fully drainable, and spray balls have been mounted in the tank, allowing direct spraying of every part of the tank.
The client is a cosmetics company, and produces skincare products, make-up, perfumes and haircare products, which are sold worldwide.
